Scrap my car
in Cambuslang
G72 is a long district: Cambuslang and Halfway at the Glasgow end, Flemington, Westburn and Newton in the middle, and Blantyre to the south-east towards Hamilton. It is all one priced district, so a car in High Blantyre and one on Cambuslang Main Street are quoted the same way.

One postcode, two towns
Cambuslang grew up around its Main Street and the steel and engineering works by the river. Blantyre, David Livingstone's birthplace, is a separate town off the A725. The postcode joins them, and so do the collectors: Rutherglen is next door to the west and Hamilton is the next junction south on the M74.
Streets and drives
Cambuslang's Main Street and the streets off it are tenements with on-street parking. Halfway, Westburn and Newton are newer estates with drives. Blantyre mixes older terraces with the estates on its south side. Collectors work all of it; tell them where the car is parked and whether it rolls.
What gets scrapped here
Family hatchbacks and saloons at the end of their MOT life — Mazda 2s, Mondeos and Insignias have all come through — and vans from the Cambuslang Investment Park and Hamilton International Park units. Vans up to 3.5 tonnes are priced from the registration like cars. MOT failures, non-runners and damaged cars are priced on their weight and what is still on them.
Paid by bank, closed off with the DVLA
The collector is a licensed Scottish metal dealer and Authorised Treatment Facility. It pays the registered keeper by bank transfer within 24 hours of collection and issues the Certificate of Destruction, and the DVLA is told you no longer own the car. The V5C helps but is not essential.

What people say afterwards
Great customer service and very professional. They made the whole experience easy as I had never done anything like this before and contacted me promptly to arrange collection. I received a great price for the car too. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely hassle free just as advertised. Quick service, fast pay. Peace of mind.
So very easy , a few clicks , a phone call and all was taken care of. I treated my self with a take away the same night. Also best price I found and I compared 😂
Questions
What people in Cambuslang ask
Is Blantyre covered on this page?
Yes. Blantyre and High Blantyre are in G72 with Cambuslang, Halfway, Flemington, Westburn and Newton, and the whole district is priced.
Is Cambuslang the same district as Rutherglen?
They are neighbours: Rutherglen is G73 and has its own page. Both are priced, so whichever side of the boundary the car is on, you get a figure straight away.
How do I get paid?
By bank transfer to the registered keeper, within 24 hours of collection. Scotland does not allow cash payments for scrap.
How quickly can you collect a scrap car in Cambuslang?
Usually within one to three days. Your collector is a licensed yard local to Cambuslang, so once you accept the price they ring you — normally within a couple of hours — to agree a day, and again before setting off.
Is collection in Cambuslang really free?
Yes. The collector's price already includes the recovery truck, so there is nothing to pay anywhere in Cambuslang (G72), and the figure you accept is the figure paid into your bank.
Do I need the V5C logbook?
It helps, but you can still scrap the car without it. The collector checks your photo ID and proof of address instead, and because every yard on the network is an Authorised Treatment Facility, the Certificate of Destruction is issued and the DVLA is told you are no longer the keeper.
Can I get cash for my scrap car?
No — paying cash for scrap vehicles has been illegal in England and Wales since 2013, and in Scotland since 2016. Your collector pays by bank transfer to the registered keeper within 24 hours of collection.
