The border town

The A31 bypass and the A325 to Bordon make Farnham easy for a collector from Hampshire as well as one from the Guildford side, and the site prices your car against all of them. Once you accept, the yard rings to agree a day — usually within one to three days.

GU9 and GU10

GU9 is the town itself: Castle Street and the Georgian centre, Hale, Heath End, Weybourne and Badshot Lea on the Aldershot side. GU10 is the countryside — Wrecclesham and Rowledge, Tongham and Seale under the Hog’s Back, Tilford, Frensham and Churt down the A287. The old town is narrow and the streets off Castle Street and West Street are tight for a recovery truck; the villages have long gravel drives and field gates. Both are routine, as long as you say so when you book.

Village cars and farm vehicles

More 4x4s, pickups and old estates than most Surrey towns, and more cars that have simply been parked in a barn or a paddock for years. A car that has stood that long is a non-runner and is winched; a Land Rover or pickup that still has its engine and gearbox is often worth more than its weight, and the price reflects that. Vans from the Water Lane and Coxbridge estates are priced from the registration and can be invoiced.

The collector is an Authorised Treatment Facility: photo ID and proof of address for the registered keeper, bank transfer within 24 hours of collection, and the Certificate of Destruction issued so the DVLA knows the car is gone. Lost the V5C? The ID check replaces it.
