in Alloa

Alloa's FK10 is one of the busiest Scottish districts in our records, and the rest of Clackmannanshire — Menstrie, Alva, Tillicoultry and Dollar along the foot of the Ochils — is priced with it. Scotland's smallest county is covered from FK10 to FK14.

FK10 to FK14

FK10 is Alloa itself with Tullibody, Sauchie, Clackmannan, Cambus and Fishcross. FK11 is Menstrie, FK12 Alva, FK13 Tillicoultry and Coalsnaughton, and FK14 Dollar and Muckhart. Alloa and Tullibody send most of the cars; the Hillfoots villages send fewer, but they are priced the same way.

Across the Forth

The Clackmannanshire Bridge at Kincardine links the county to the M876 and Falkirk on the south side of the Forth, and Stirling is fifteen minutes west. Collectors reach the whole county easily, so the price carries no distance and collection is usually within a day or two of accepting.

The cars

Astras and Corsas lead the Alloa list, with Focuses, Fiestas and Peugeot 207s close behind: the family cars of the last twenty years reaching the end of the road. Vans up to 3.5 tonnes are priced from the registration too. A car that has failed its MOT, will not start or has been written off is priced on its weight and what is still on it.

Licensed and paid by bank

The collector is a licensed Scottish metal dealer and an Authorised Treatment Facility. The registered keeper is paid by bank transfer within 24 hours of collection, never in cash, and the Certificate of Destruction is issued so the DVLA knows the car has gone. No V5C? Photo ID and proof of address are enough.

How it works

From registration to paid, in four steps

Registration and postcode. The car is looked up on the DVLA record and priced against what the licensed yards covering your district pay today.

  2. 02

    Book it

Tell us where the car is and what suits you. It takes under a minute, with no account and no haggling.

  3. 03

    A local yard rings you

The licensed collector behind your price calls within two hours in the working day to fix the day, then collects for free.

  4. 04

    Paid within 24 hours

Bank transfer to the registered keeper within 24 hours of collection. The DVLA is told and the Certificate of Destruction is emailed to you.

Highly professional and recommendable from start to finish. Collected my vehicle and paid within a few hours, and the collection driver was absolutely brilliant. Can’t recommend them enough and if I ever have to scrap a car again won’t hesitate to use them. Paid the best price too!

Questions

What people in Alloa ask

Do you cover Dollar and the Hillfoots villages?

Yes. Menstrie (FK11), Alva (FK12), Tillicoultry and Coalsnaughton (FK13) and Dollar and Muckhart (FK14) are all priced, as is everything in FK10.

Is Clackmannan covered?

Yes. Clackmannan is in FK10 with Alloa, Tullibody, Sauchie, Cambus and Fishcross.

How is the price worked out?

From the registration (make, model, weight and age) and the condition you describe, at the rate the licensed yards covering your FK postcode pay that day. The site shows you the best figure.

When could you collect from Alloa?

Quickly — the collector who takes Alloa jobs is based nearby, not the other end of the country. Accept the price, they ring to agree a day, and the driver confirms before setting off.

Is there a collection fee in Alloa?

No. Collection is free: the price on your quote is the price the collector pays, with the truck built in across FK10, FK11, FK12, FK13, FK14. It only changes if the car turns out to be missing something you told us it had.

Can you scrap it without the logbook?

Yes. Photo ID and proof of address are what the collector is required to check; the V5C is a bonus. Every collector on the network is an Authorised Treatment Facility, so the Certificate of Destruction and the DVLA notification follow either way.

How do you pay?

By bank transfer to the registered keeper, sent by the collector within 24 hours of collection. Cash is not an option — it has been illegal for scrap vehicles since 2013.
