Port, refinery and town
Grangemouth is Scotland's biggest container port and the petrochemicals town on the Forth, with the M9 running along its southern edge. That brings a lot of working vehicles and a lot of commuters, and both end up needing scrapping. Falkirk is next door to the west, and the two towns share the FK2 postcode.
FK3 and FK2
FK3 is Grangemouth itself, from the docks to Kersiebank, Bowhouse and the newer estates. FK2 covers Laurieston, Polmont, Brightons, Redding, Westquarter and Maddiston, and the east side of Falkirk town. Streets with drives and on-street parking are both routine for the collectors; say where the car is when you book.
Vans and small cars
FK3's list is Fiestas, Clios and Vauxhall Combo vans — the docks and the industrial estates retire a lot of small vans. FK2 runs to Fiestas, Astras, Peugeot 207s, Clios and Golfs. Vans up to 3.5 tonnes are priced from the registration and can be invoiced. MOT failures, non-runners and damaged cars are priced on their weight and what is still on them.
Done properly
The collector is a licensed Scottish metal dealer and Authorised Treatment Facility. It pays the registered keeper by bank transfer within 24 hours of collection — no cash, under Scottish law since 2016 — and issues the Certificate of Destruction, so the DVLA knows you are no longer the keeper. The V5C is useful but not essential.

What people say afterwards
So very easy , a few clicks , a phone call and all was taken care of. I treated my self with a take away the same night. Also best price I found and I compared 😂
Fantastic experience from enquiry through to collection. Payment made promptly and the communication was excellent. Highly recommended.
Highly professional and recommendable from start to finish. Collected my vehicle and paid within a few hours, and the collection driver was absolutely brilliant. Can’t recommend them enough and if I ever have to scrap a car again won’t hesitate to use them. Paid the best price too!
Questions
What people in Grangemouth ask
Is Polmont on this page or the Falkirk one?
Both. FK2 covers Polmont and the east side of Falkirk, so it appears on each page. Grangemouth itself is FK3.
Can a works van be invoiced to my business?
Yes. Vans up to 3.5 tonnes are priced from the registration like cars and can be invoiced. Mention it when you book.
Can a car be collected from a works car park?
Yes, if you have the right to remove it and the truck can get in. Tell us the site and any gate times when you book.
How quickly can you collect a scrap car in Grangemouth?
Usually within one to three days. Your collector is a licensed yard local to Grangemouth, so once you accept the price they ring you — normally within a couple of hours — to agree a day, and again before setting off.
Is collection in Grangemouth really free?
Yes. The collector's price already includes the recovery truck, so there is nothing to pay anywhere in Grangemouth (FK3, FK2), and the figure you accept is the figure paid into your bank.
Do I need the V5C logbook?
It helps, but you can still scrap the car without it. The collector checks your photo ID and proof of address instead, and because every yard on the network is an Authorised Treatment Facility, the Certificate of Destruction is issued and the DVLA is told you are no longer the keeper.
Can I get cash for my scrap car?
No — paying cash for scrap vehicles has been illegal in England and Wales since 2013, and in Scotland since 2016. Your collector pays by bank transfer to the registered keeper within 24 hours of collection.
