The M67 and the hills

The M67 brings a collector through Hyde to the end of the motorway at Mottram, and the A6018 and A627 link Stalybridge and Dukinfield to Ashton and the M60. Yards on the Oldham side and the Stockport side both quote here, and the site shows the best of them. Once you accept, the yard rings to agree a day — usually within one to three days.

SK14, SK15 and SK16

SK15 is Stalybridge, Millbrook, Carrbrook and Heyrod; SK14 Hyde, Gee Cross, Godley, Hattersley, Mottram, Hollingworth and Broadbottom; SK16 Dukinfield. Terraces and kerbside parking in the towns, estate roads at Hattersley, and steep lanes above Millbrook, Carrbrook and Mottram. Say which street and whether the car rolls.

What Tameside scraps

Older family cars and hatchbacks failed on corrosion or emissions, vans from the Dukinfield and Hyde units, and cars parked up for a year or two until the space is needed. MOT failures, non-runners and damaged cars are all priced the same way — weight, make, age, what is still fitted — with the winch included. A car with its catalytic converter is worth more than one without; say if it has gone.

The collector is an Authorised Treatment Facility. Photo ID and proof of address for the registered keeper, bank transfer within 24 hours of collection — never cash, by law — and the Certificate of Destruction issued so the DVLA record is closed. A missing V5C is covered by the ID check.
