The M62 and the A58 put Heywood within a short run of the yards on the Rochdale, Bury and Oldham sides, and the site prices your car against each of them. The collecting yard rings to agree a day once you accept, usually within one to three days.

The town centre and the streets off Bury Street and Rochdale Road are terraces with kerbside parking; Hopwood and Darnhill are semis and estate roads; Hooley Bridge sits down by the river. Vans and the rest

Heywood Distribution Park and the Pilsworth estates send a steady run of vans and ex-fleet cars through the site — priced from the registration like any other vehicle, up to 3.5 tonnes, with an invoice for a business if needed. The rest is ordinary: diesel family cars failed on emissions, small hatchbacks at the end of a long life, non-runners parked up behind a terrace. All are priced by weight, make, age and what is still fitted, with the winch included.

By a licensed yard

Every collector is an Authorised Treatment Facility. Photo ID and proof of address for the registered keeper, bank transfer within 24 hours of collection, and the Certificate of Destruction issued with the DVLA told. No V5C? The ID check covers it.
